Trying to work on presenting a storyboard statically v. presenting it as an animatic (also trying to work on finding a process I’m happy with….).
So…. this is what I was thinking- instead of a slow demise into greed…. what if there was one, precise moment where the once-ler had to make a choice about which way he was going to fall? I figured the “lighting ceremony” of Thneedville (aka turning on the power and zapping of all the natural resources of the area) would be a good place to start.
Characters and “Biggering” (c) Seuss and Illumination Entertainment
This is mind-blowing. I lovelovelove the part with the shadows, the blue-print transition, and THE WHOLE DAMN ENDING, WOW. The camera angles and pans, the short shots of the last tree is being chopped and how it’s timed with the music at its most dramatic point just ljalksjdf
Might I ask if Citizen Kane was an inspiration at all? I don’t know why, but your storyboard reminds me of that scene.
Now this is a really well made, well timed storyboard. God, I literally want to cry at the bridge of the song. It was so good, I just… wow. Nothing can beat this.
